If the (extremely hot and humid) weather is any indication, it would appear that NYC summer is in full swing. And there’s no better cure for a truly hot summer in the city than—yep, you guessed it—delicious ice cream. Ace customers Blue Marble, Van Leeuwen, and Ample Hills have all made some new changes just in time for ice cream season. Read on to hear all about them…

Brooklyn favorite Blue Marble Ice Cream—known for their delicious, organic ice cream that makes “tastebuds happy and hearts feel good”—just opened their very first Manhattan location. (You can learn more about Blue Marble here.)

You can now visit them on the Upper West Side at 2578 Broadway, where they’re scooping ice cream every day from 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Plus, they have a cute little merch corner and an outdoor patio so you can grab some goodies and enjoy your cone al fresco. We recommend stopping by and grabbing a scoop of their Summertime Strawberry flavor!

Changes are also afoot at beloved ice cream-makers Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. They just released their line of much-awaited ice cream bars! You can find three flavors—Raspberry Cheesecake, Vegan Vanilla Wildberry Swirl, and Toffee Brown Sugar—in scoop shops. Or order from the full line-up—which includes Vegan Triple Chocolate Swirl, Vegan Brown Sugar Honeycomb, and Vanilla Caramel Swirl—on their website. What’s not to love?

Van Leeuwen is also launching a slew of new, summery flavors each month. Their July specials include Vegan Banana Pudding, gluten-free Vegan Early Grey Tea, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Swirl, and Black Cherry Chip. You can find the July flavors at any of the Van Leeuwen scoop shops in New York, California, New Jersey, and Texas, buy a pint at select grocery stores, or order online for nationwide shipping until Thursday, August 5th (or until scoops last).

True Ample Hills stans probably already know that the ice cream shop just celebrated their ten-year anniversary by opening a new, beautiful scoop shop located on the Bartel-Pritchard Square, right off 15th St—Prospect Park Station. Their grand opening on Memorial Day weekend happened to be a rainy evening, but there was still a line out the door, to no one’s surprise! If you haven’t been yet, you can stop by to try their scrumptious flavors.

Ample Hills is also hosting a new rooftop series at their Gowanus scoop shop. Revelers can stop by to enjoy stand-up comedy from local comedians, live music, and author readings. Plus, you get to eat ice cream while being entertained! Sounds like a perfect night out, right? Check out the line-up and get tickets here.
