September: Month of the Food Shows

September is not just the start of autumn. It’s also — drum roll — the Month of the Food Shows! 

This year, we were delighted to have a booth at the Plant Based World Expo in New York City and attend Expo East in Philadelphia, only a few short weeks later.

At Plant Based World Expo, we were happy to host lunchtime samplings from new Ace vendor Prime Roots, which offers plant-based meat substitutes, all made from fungi called “koji.” Koji only takes a few days to grow, doesn’t need to be heavily processed like other plant proteins, and creates almost zero byproducts, making it super earth-friendly AND human-friendly. We also introduced our new friends, Ace Eggplant and Ace Broccoli, to the participants at Plant Based World. While there, these friendly veggies raffled off thousands of dollars of Ace products. Score!

At Expo East, we had the privilege of connecting with beloved Ace vendors, including Edward & Sons, Fabalish, and Dandies in a much larger environment. It always warms our hearts to see show participants sampling— and being dazzled by — products made by our amazing vendor-partners!

“Absolutely the best part of the show, for us, was the ‘Hot Products’ section,” says Ace’s CEO Tor Newman. “It’s a section that features young and emerging companies. For instance, Fabalish, one of our new vendors who does plant-based mayo and falafel and a few different dressings, was there.” 

Sadly, this is the last year that Expo East will run. The show is shutting down and rebranding, meaning that we won’t see you there next year. On the bright side, we are exploring the possibility of creating our own tabletop show featuring Ace Natural’s vendors. Stay tuned for more!
